Description
Cumin, coriander and fennel are three of the most potent spices for stimulating digestion, increasing metabolism, and waking up a dull and sluggish gut to get things moving again.
One of my favourite teas is this home-brew has its roots in Ayurvedic principles. I started drinking this tea years ago when in full swing of perimenopause and my digestion was totally out of whack.
Ingredients
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp coriander seeds
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
4–5 cups water (1–1.2 litres)
Optional
1/2 tsp fenugreek – if you are having lots of excess gas production
Fresh ginger and cardamom pods.
Instructions
Boil the water with the seeds for 5-10 minutes. Strain the seeds out of the tea, pour the tea into an insulated thermos, so it keeps warm all day or warm-up as needed. Sip the tea throughout the day.
Notes
☕This tea helps move fluid through and out the body, so you may urinate more, which by the way, is a good thing.
