Green Invigorating Smoothie

Ingredients

Scale

1 small apple, cored with skin

1 stalk celery

1 cup spinach or a hefty handful

1 small avocado or 1/2 medium avocado

1 handful each fresh coriander (stems on)

1 handful parsley (stems off)

250 ml water

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp flax seeds


Instructions

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blitz.

Add some lemon juice or lime juice for extra citrus flavour.

It’s that easy!

Coriander and parsley are two of the most cleansing herbs. Don’t just use them in the smoothies.

If you prefer a creamy smoothie substitute the water for coconut nut or any nut milk.

Other fruits to add – mango, papaya, pineapple.

 

 

Notes

Flax seeds are midlife wonder foods that are rich in phytoestrogens which can help to ease menopause symptoms. They are great sources of omega 3 essential fatty acids (good fats) and protein.

Ginger aids digestion and inflammation.
